Introduction
WAX is mainly an plugin extension that runs inside audio production software, better known as, Digital Audio Workstations (DAW). The DAW is considered to be a “Host” application where plugins may run.
WAX is inserted into an instrument or effect plugin slot or anywhere in the host where audio plugins may be loaded.
Installation Steps:
- Download & Install
- Launch DAW and ensure plugins located
- Start exploring & creating

Install Plugins
If no installer was provided in the WAX download, you will see several files in the unzipped download. Follow these steps to install them.
MAC
- Unzip and verify the component & vst files are present.
- Locate the audio plugins folder:
- System wide: -MacintoshHD/Library/Audio/Plug-ins
- Single user: ~Users/{username}/Library/Audio/Plug-ins
- Move files into correct sub-folder
- Component files go in the “Component” folder
- Vst files go in the “VST” folder
- Verify it is found in your DAW.

Final Note
Currently, only the AudioUnits (component files) have both Instrument & Effect plugins for WAX. If not using Apples Garageband or LogicPro, check your DAW settings to ensure AudioUnits are enabled. There should be an option to re-scan plugins.
