Introduction
Pan on a mixer refers to the stereo positioning of a sound source between the left and right speakers. The pan control on a mixer allows you to adjust the stereo placement of a sound source, making it sound more left or right in the mix.
The most unique feature of the Yumaka is the method used for pan. Engaging the MONO/STEREO button treats the mono channels of 1 & 2 as if they are a stereo signal with each channel panned hard left and hard right. However, there is no ability to adjust the pan otherwise. By default, the mono signals equally feed the Main Stereo Bus.
Pan Multiple Instruments
Instruments with multiple sources could utilize panning to create room and depth in the mix. For example, panning two guitar players or each element of the drums (kick, snare, hi hat, toms etc)
Mono vs Stereo Channels
Engaging the MONO/STEREO button treats the mono channels of 1 & 2 as if they are a stereo signal with each channel panned hard left and hard right. However, there is no ability to adjust the pan otherwise. By default, the mono signals equally feed the Main Stereo Bus.
