Collaboration Lobby
Introduction
Collab Mode is where users can join together to work inside a single Virtual Studio session. Instead of practicing alone, you can meet up in the same studio environment, collaborate in real-time, and build skills together — just like being in the room with a class, a partner, or a full team.
It’s built for hands-on learning: users can practice the workflow together, talk through decisions, and stay in sync as they move through real studio scenarios. Whether you’re teaching, training, or collaborating with friends, Collab Mode turns Virtual Studio into a shared session where everyone learns faster and stays engaged.
The Lobby
The Lobby is the starting point for Collaboration Mode. It’s where users meet up before a session, and where you can create or join rooms to work together inside a single Virtual Studio session.
Create a Room
Hosting your own session is easy. Create a room, configure the settings for the room, like the name and privacy settings. Then, invite others to join you. Users may also join after a studio session has begun.
Public & Private Rooms
Rooms can be either public or private, depending on how you want to collaborate:
- Public rooms are open for anyone to join. Great for meeting new users, casual practice, community sessions, and open learning.
- Private rooms are invite-only. Perfect for classrooms, team sessions, one-on-one coaching, or focused collaboration without interruptions.
When a room is public, any user may join the session via “Join Random Session”. If you do not prefer to have unfamiliar visitors to your session, then set the room to private.
For private rooms, share the room name to invite others to join you.
Join Random Room
Joining any publicly existing session at random.
Room List
A list of publicly rooms that are open to join.
Search Room
Find rooms specifically by name. This is where to locate a private toom.
Inside a Room
Once you join a room, you’ll see everyone who’s currently in the session. This is the “waiting area” before the studio launches — a simple way to make sure the group is ready to start together.
Step 1 — Users Join the Room
When users enter the room, they appear in the participant list. At this stage, everyone can confirm they’re in the right place before launching the shared studio session.
Step 2 — Click Ready
When a user is prepared to begin, they click Ready. This lets the host know they’re set up and ready to enter the studio.
Step 3 — Launch the Shared Session
Once all users in the room have clicked Ready, the room admin (host) can launch the session.
This starts the shared Virtual Studio session, bringing everyone into the same studio environment at the same time.
This workflow keeps collaboration smooth and organized — no one gets left behind, and the session starts when the entire group is ready.
Admin Privileges
Each room has an admin (host) who controls when the session starts and helps keep the room running smoothly.
Kick Unresponsive Users
If someone joins but doesn’t click Ready, disconnects, or becomes unresponsive, the admin can remove them from the room. This prevents one stalled user from blocking the group, so the session can launch on time and everyone else can keep moving forward.
